Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay SanraksHan Abhiyan (PM-AASHA)
Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan (PM-AASHA) is a scheme launched by the Government of India in 2018 to provide support and remunerative prices to farmers for their produce.
The pm aasha scheme aims to ensure that farmers get fair prices for their crops and are protected from market fluctuations.
Under this scheme, farmers can sell their produce in three ways:
1. Price Support Scheme (PSS) -
2. Price Deficiency Payment Scheme (PDPS) -
Under this scheme, the government will pay the difference between the MSP and the market price directly to the farmers.
3. Private Procurement and Stockist Scheme (PPPS) -
Under this scheme, private players can procure crops at market prices and the government will provide support for transportation, handling, and storage.
Through this scheme, the government aims to reduce the distress of farmers and increase their income. It is expected to benefit around 86% of farmers in the country.
